New Age of Aging is sponsoring three webinars presented by Dr. Stephanie Johnson, a research neuropsychologist based in Washington DC. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurogenerative disorders.

September 10 is the final one, entitled Healthy Aging: Multicultural Perspective.

Announcing 2010 Mentor and Mentee Grant Awards

The Mentoring Initiative is a major component of the New Age of Aging initiative. It is designed to build capacity and leadership throughout the Alliance through a culture of peer-to-peer mentoring.

Ten Alliance member agencies with demonstrated motivation and commitment to grow their capacities in the field of aging have been awarded grants as mentee agencies. These  organizations are open to learning about and expanding their capacities for serving older adults through a year-long, one-to-one mentoring relationship with a mentor (lead) agency.

Impact and Innovation: Effective Models and Practices in Serving Older Adults

The members of the Alliance are an extraordinary group of mission-driven human service providers offering a wide range of services to thousands of communities and millions of people each year.

Within this extraordinary group are eight organizations chosen to be recognized in the case studies report, Impact and Innovation: Effective Models and Practices in Serving Older Adults. The case studies presented in this report, represent some of the many successful programs targeting older adults sponsored by Alliance members. 

Alliance member staff awarded scholarships to complete Certificate in Aging program

New Age of Aging partnership offers support for continued education Eighty-six scholarships were awarded to staff, interns, and volunteers at 35 Alliance member organizations, as well as eight to Alliance staff, so that they may earn a Certificate in Aging.
